Stage 1 tuning is the most popular ECU remapping option, delivering significant performance improvements while requiring no hardware modifications. The engine runs on its original components including the standard turbocharger, intercooler, exhaust system, and fuel system.

Our Stage 1 ECU tuning files are developed by professional calibration engineers who optimize multiple engine parameters simultaneously. Boost pressure curves are refined to deliver earlier and stronger boost response. Fuel injection timing and quantity maps are recalibrated for improved combustion efficiency. Torque limiters are raised to allow the engine to produce its full mechanical potential.

For turbocharged diesel engines, typical Stage 1 gains range from 20 to 35 percent additional power and torque. Turbocharged petrol engines generally see gains of 15 to 30 percent. The exact improvement depends on the specific engine platform and its factory detuning level.

Beyond raw power, Stage 1 tuning often improves everyday drivability. Throttle response becomes sharper, power delivery is smoother across the rev range, and mid-range torque is significantly enhanced. Many drivers also report improved fuel economy during normal driving conditions due to the more efficient combustion calibration.
